Session 1: Introduction to the Animation Industry

In this session, students will be introduced to the world of animation, exploring its origins and how it has evolved over time. From the early days of hand-drawn frames to today’s cutting-edge 3D and VFX techniques, this session helps build a strong foundational understanding of the industry’s growth and influence.

They will also learn about the four major types of animation2D, 3D, stop motion, and VFX—and understand how each style serves a different purpose across media like film, gaming, and advertising.

The session also covers a complete breakdown of the animation production pipeline, including all the key stages: concept development, modeling, texturing, rigging, animating, lighting, rendering, and final delivery. This overview gives students a “big picture” perspective and helps them see how every part of the process connects.

Lastly, students will gain insight into the real-world applications of animation—learning how it’s used in industries such as architecture, real estate, marketing, education, and entertainment, opening their minds to future career possibilities.
