Session 1: Introduction to the Animation Industry
In this session, students will be introduced to the world of animation, exploring its origins and evolution over time. From the early days of hand-drawn frames to today’s cutting-edge 3D and VFX techniques, this session helps build a strong foundational understanding of the industry’s growth and influence.
They will also learn about the four major types of animation—2D, 3D, stop-motion, and VFX—and understand how each style serves a different purpose across various media, including film, gaming, and advertising.
The session also provides a comprehensive breakdown of the animation production pipeline, encompassing all key stages: concept development, modelling, texturing, rigging, animation, lighting, rendering, and final delivery. This overview gives students a “big picture” perspective and helps them see how every part of the process connects.
Lastly, students will gain insight into the real-world applications of animation—learning how it’s used in industries such as architecture, real estate, marketing, education, and entertainment, opening their minds to future career possibilities.
